A recent flurry of direct mail carrying my name and the phrase Or Current Resident has led me to the inescapable conclusion that everyone is fascinated by me. To speed the get-acquainted process, I’ve compiled a list of answers to questions Christiane Amanpour used recently to grill Stephen Hawking.

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE TYPE OF MUSIC? You know the pitiful grunting and whining your old cat makes from the foot of your bed at night? That's Mozart to me. I also like actual Mozart.

DO YOU LIKE MOVIES? Modern cinema is the tool of Satan -- unless it's a picture staring Pauly Shore. He's the finest actor of our time. That the incendiary "Bio-Dome” was overlooked by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences years ago still rankles me.

ISN'T TELEVISION JUST MARVELOUS? The episodes of "Run’s House" directed by Martin Scorsese still bring me to tears. Then there’s every other installment of “Baywatch,” which had a lonely old homeless guy from a dumpster outside Yasmine Bleeth's station suddenly appear to pull her from a raging sea. When she’d rise from the sand to thank him, he’d have mysteriously vanished … like an angel or someone who was just ridiculously unreliable.

BOOKS -- THEY'RE GOOD FOR PROPPING UP A TABLE. BUT I UNDERSTAND YOU CAN READ THEM, TOO. I like anything by Salinger -- Pierre, not J.D. I'm not into all that phony stuff.

HAVE YOU ANY PERSONAL HEROES? Aren’t we all heroes? No, wait, that's just silly. Jonas Salk, that's someone to worship. Bishop Desmond Tutu. The inventor of the chia pet.

TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF. You probably don't recognize the adult me. I'm a former '70s child actor, fresh out of rehab, currently suing my parents for the hundreds of thousands they stole from me during my seven-year stint as Skipper on "My Brother the Chimp."

IS THERE ANYONE YOU'D LIKE TO MEET, LIKE THE GENIUS BEHIND STRING THEORY OR JUSTIN BIEBER? I hate people. I know that's an awful thing to say, but it's true. I like cheddar cheese because it doesn't often talk back to me. And when it does, it gives me good, solid investment advice, delivered in a winsome Irish brogue.
